How to single crochet
When you feel ready to create your first stitch, I recommend beginning with the single crochet (sc). This stitch, sometimes referred to as a double crochet (dc), is the simplest stitch and one of the most common stitches used in crochet patterns.
Let’s begin.
Starting with a foundation chain, insert your hook into the second chain from your hook.
You’ll notice a chain has 3 loops - two on top with one behind in the middle. When you insert your hook into a chain, you only want to insert it through the left top loop.
Once inserted, yarn over, then pull through a loop. You should have two loops on your hook. Yarn over, then pull the yarn through both loops on your hook. You’ve just made a single crochet!
